Learned react js today, and used express + node + mongo db to make this site. You can submit posts, and read the latest posts. It's really simple, I just wanted a project to learn react with Also, Henrybook is a running joke since 3rd grade: Each time I've made some app that vaguely resembles a social media of some form, I've named it Henrybook

Today I tried learning react js, because I'm tired of hearing people talking about JS frameworks and whatever while I have no clue what they're talking about Also, as a quick few hour project, learned GLSL for the purposes of making the absolutely atrocious shader depicted below I wasted about 50% of my time working on that by not being able to figure out that depth buffers aren't linear lmfao

Day 1 This is my first day of documenting my day for scrapbook! Let's go! :minecraft: Minecraft Me and @Marios (along some other amazing people) are preparing to launch the Kelp Ltd company, in the official Hack Club Minecraft Server! With the help of @Marios, we made the Kelp Ltd website @ odysseusk.me/kelp. Go check it out! :tw_books: New programming book I purchased "The Computer Programming Bible" by C.P.A. INC. which is a small book with guides for HTML, C, C++, C#, Python, Java, Javascript and Raspberry Pi. It looks like a great book, and I am looking forward to use it to learn C! :tw_spiral_calendar_pad: Tomorrow Tomorrow I will start binge watching C tutorials and making basic projects. I will also have my second hack club meeting! So excited! Lastly, I will of course grow my Minecraft empire!

Day 4 of Winter Hardware Wonderland: I learned how to create a pixel art editor with JS from the Medium article. Then I make some design changes and add more features to deal with the backend server. Tomorrow Plan: Build a backend server using flask and display leds as a change in the frontend occurs.

I've been working on a discord.js v13.12.0 LTS bot that sends book/scripture verses! the code is pretty wanky, but it works! I made it open source @ github.com/Debi-sys/Boilerplate-book-scripture-bot if anybody wants to check it out !

I started building the Backend and Frontend, but before I could do that, I needed a library to interact with the drone. I found one but realized it was written in plain vanilla JS and had no type definitions. Since I wanted to use Typescript in my project, I really felt I could benefit from having type definitions. So I forked the library and converted it to typescript. The fork is open source and is available here.

Shipped out a "currently listening to" widget to my portfolio! Had lots of fun connecting my Spotify account to Next.js and working with access tokens. I also connected Gitub to list out some of my projects on the site via Octokit.

Today I watched Avatar The Way of Water and read some things about Vite! Yesterday I learned about Babel.js compiler but forgot to update the text on my #scrapbook post. And speaking of Vite :vite: I'll make sure to use it on future projects.

Hello all, I started working with sprig last week, and I've been absent from javascript for a long while. Lots of neat new stuff in javascript: static, class, async. I thought I'd make a game out of some esoteric programming language, and Befunge is this little 2D language that's quite visual when running. For game levels I figure I'd present a nearly working program with only one symbol you can push around to try and solve it. trying to make @Omay's 2D life game run on the device. The problem is, it's using x2 as much memory as the pico even has. Yeah. right now, it uses getAll to find all of the tiles on the map that are "living" or "dead." however, Omay's map is 1028 tiles large. So there's 2056 tiles between the arrays and their clones. I'm going to rewrite it so that instead of using getAll, it loops over the map using for loops. I think this will use less memory because there won't be any arrays in JavaScript holding all of the tiles.

After 399 days my streak has officially come to the first place with the 400th day today! :tw_tada: :fireball: :parrotdad: I started last year just as something to do when I joined Hack Club :hack-club: but it have become a great way to keep small updates of the things I've been working on and learning. So for today, besides celebrating this, I finished my code and add more documentation updates for github.com/javierzaleta/splatter-paint (please consider starring it ⭐ on GitHub!) and made a piano website with another workshop 🎹 that I'll share soon besides a JavaScript :javascript: music visualizer. Also, I just need to wait one more day for my last Hacktoberfest PR :hacktoberfest-2022: to be accepted and sadly I missed Sal Khan's AMA. :sadge: :khan-academy:

Day 9/10 of #10-days-in-public! I’ve been working to rebuild zachlatta.com, and I finally put the new site online! I moved it from beta.zachlatta.com to zachlatta.com, added indicators of the modification & creation dates, and linked to the GitHub repo from the homepage. It’s still pretty basic and I’m pretty new to Next.js / modern web dev in general, but I’m proud of getting it to this point and excited to continue iterating on it after the 10 day challenge! At some point I still want to add some sort of streak mechanism…
